GG Network Review

GG Network is a relatively young but rapidly growing poker network. During the Asian poker boom in 2016, this network gained worldwide fame by starting to attract players from not only Asian countries, but also from other parts of the world. Currently, the GG Network includes 15 poker rooms, but only three rooms have gained the biggest popularity: BetKing Poker, BestPoker and PokerOK.

GG Network features

The Korean GG network has started developing rapidly during the local poker boom over the past few years. It is worth noticing, that the European and American poker boom, that was provoked by the win of Moneymaker at the WSOP2003, bypassed Asian countries. Now China, Japan, Korea and some other countries are at the peak of poker popularization. GG Network didn’t miss the opportunity to take an advantage of this and in 2016 it expanded its sphere of influence on the global poker community.

The first steps to enter the world stage were taken by Natural8 room. Convenient deposit and cashout schemes for Americans and Europeans were implemented in this room. And although this didn’t solve all the problems of Asian poker rooms, more and more regulars, attracted by a very weak field, has started signing up from other countries.

The poker rooms of the GG Network have some unusual functions for European rooms. For example, with the help of the “Run it 3 times” function players can scroll the board three times when exposed, which reduces the influence of luck on the outcome of the rally. Yes, there are similar functions in some European rooms, but you can scroll through the board in them only twice. Also, in some rooms of this network you can insure your all-in. Such opportunity is provided, if you are exposed with a hand having a chance of 67% or higher to win. In this case, you will receive a win due to you on EV, but you will have to pay the insurance premium.

Advantages and disadvantages of the GG Network

The main advantage of the GG Network is the relatively low-level game on average. It’s not surprising, because most of the traffic falls on recreational players from Asian countries. And the policy of the poker rooms that make up this network is aimed at attracting amateur players. Thus, poker trackers are not supported in the rooms, which are always used by professional players, gaining an even greater advantage over amateurs. In addition, the rakeback of losing players will be higher than that of winning players. This is because the network uses a PVI coefficient to calculate rakeback, which depends on the success of the player. And although it may seem to be an advantage only for chips that constantly lose, regulars also get their pluses – an increased rakeback will help to overcome long lingering downstairs more easily.

The disadvantages of the GG Network include the same orientation towards amateur players. Thus, regulars will not be able to use auxiliary software, as well as engage in bum hunting. For violation of the rules, the administration may block the account with confiscation of funds. Some players complain that there are a lot of bots in the poker rooms, the RNG behaves in an unusual way, the Chinese regulars win much more often. However, major network affiliates provide data that European players generally plus in the GG Network.

Overview of network rooms

GGPoker

GGPoker is the flagship poker room of this Asian network, which is known for its recreational players. GGPoker is a perfect choice for those who are looking for a room with a weak pool, good attendance and high rakeback. Sufficient traffic is observed almost all day long, because players from Asia were joined by European poker players. Also, there are such undoubted advantages as convenient software, many promotions and bonuses and a huge variety of disciplines, formats and poker limits.

PokerOK

PokerOK is the young poker room of the Asian network GG Network, which has replaced the famous Lotos Poker room. After the Lotos was closed in 2019, all its users moved to PokerOK with the ability to save money on their accounts. This room differs from other rooms in the network by the presence of Russian-speaking support and the ability to make deposits and cashouts using popular payment systems. Therefore, it could be said that PokerOK is aimed at Russian-speaking poker players.

Despite the fact that the GG Network rooms don’t support third-party software, you can still make notes at PokerOK, as well as watch statistics using the built-in Smart HUD. Maximum traffic is observed in the evening Moscow time at cache tables in the range of limits from NL5 to NL1000. Tournaments are mainly represented by events that cost up to $ 15, but you can find more expensive tournaments with buy-ins up to $ 25,000.

BetKings Poker

BetKings Poker is a young poker room, which was created in 2015 with the provision of online casino services and sports betting. Peak traffic of this room falls on daytime and evening hours in Moscow. Most of the Asian players sign in during the day (evening in Asian countries), and in the evening attendance increases due to Europeans. Most of the traffic is concentrated at the cache tables. The range of playable limits for no limit Hold’em is from NL10 to NL2000. In pot limit Omaha the maximum limit is even higher – PLO5000. For VIP players, it is possible to create private tables with any limits, without restrictions.

At BetKings Poker you can play in a format such as All-in or Fold, where each player can either start or fold, other actions are not available. The game is conducted with the rules of Hold’em at 4 limits (from NL25 to NL1000) and Omaha at three limits (from PLO50 to PLO800). Despite the fact that multi-table tournaments have appeared on the network recently, their grid is expanding quite rapidly. Most of the tournament traffic is concentrated in tournaments worth up to $ 5, although events with buy-ins up to $ 150 are held as well.

There is no doubt that the Asian poker network GG Network deserves an attention. Here you can play against weak recreational players, not only at micro limits, but also at medium and high limits. High-quality software, high traffic and a huge variety of games and formats make this network very attractive for regulars.
